School has started and wow. We were imagining a whole different life. Life has been crazy busy. Barton and I are in school full time, although we both scaled back the number of credits we have. The kids went into daycare, Savanah into preschool. I found and awesome (insert sarcasm) part time job, and Barton is still working as a sleep tech on the weekends. Savanah loves going to school with mom and dad. Every morning Savanah jumps out of bed and asks if it is time for school. There was an altercation of some sort though at school one day, Savanah got bit by a kid named Sammy. All the teachers were so freaked out, and I guess it was very traumatizing for Savanah. That's all she talked about for a week was how Sammy bit her and that wasn't very nice. I didn't get the story out of her as to why Sammy bit her though...Vercein has his good days and his bad days. Most of the time he wants to go to school. I've been told that he is a very polite child, and usually very cooperative. Sometimes he just doesn't want to be told what to do. Alexus has had the hardest time adjusting so far. She was fine the first couple of days, and then she got the stomach flu. Oh my that was fun. It ripped through the whole family in two day increments. Barton missed a fishing trip to Alaska because of it. Anyway, after having a week home with mom, she didn't want anything to do with the daycare. She gives these enormous bear hugs the minute we walk through the door to her room, and she doesn't let go. Mornings are hard. I've decided that I will be a Mass Comm major, with a emphasis in photography. Its the closest thing that ISU has to anything that deals with design. I'm excited about it. I should be done in 2 years if I go through the summer. It should be about the same time as Barton if all goes well. Cross your fingers. Barton decided to take the photograph class with me this semester. It's the beginner class, black and white film. I have been having so much fun, I have already gone through 4 rolls of film. There have been a few mishaps though. The first one, I was still figuring out how to work the camera and ruined the first roll. It was horribly underexposed. The second one I didn't get all of the chemicals on the film developing it, so there were some frames that just didn't turn out. My other classes aren't that hard, just time consuming. Barton's, however, are not so easy. And like always, he manages to find the most difficult teacher to take the class from. It has been interesting to say the least. We don't do anything much but do homework. Savanah did the funniest thing about two weeks ago. She has been learning how to use scissors at school, so I bought her a pair for home. She was so excited to use them that she got up early, she didn't wake me up, and used the scissors on her own head. She wanted to cut her hair like mom does. And she did. She gave herself quite the haircut. Her bangs were all but gone, in one spot it looked almost shaved. It almost looks like a mullet when she wears it down. I laughed so hard. Savanah cried after she got into trouble. And now she will tell you that kids don't use scissors on their hair. It is growing back, so it doesn't look quite as retarded as before.
That's all for now.....

Das zuk

So this is my new toy. My daughter Savanah wants to paint it pink like a barbie car which is okay with me because I think it will look fabulous. Rachael says she won't be caught dead in a pink car let alone a pink zuk. But anyway this is it's first run after purchasing it and I broke it that same day. I was in trouble. BAD BART!! The sammi needs a name, I am taking suggestions. There is a 25 dollar processing fee for applications. Cash only please, as I am a poor fat starving college student. Please look at the ever elusive pgymy sasquatch running across the background in the first picture

Hello Everyone

This is the beginning of the Call family blog. Barton is in school, always, and is doing very well. Last semester he made it on the dean's list, and was even in the paper. He got a new job about a month ago working as a sleep tech at night. We are hoping that it will work during school because it helps him with applying to PA school. So far he likes it. I have been at home with the kids this summer, I lost my job, but it has been a blessing in disguise. I have signed up for school to finish her degree. Hopefully we will be done at the same time with school. Savanah is all girl and loves playing dress up. Even her dolls play dress up with her. Vercein loves trucks, cars, dinosaurs, snakes and trucks. They both love the trampoline in the backyard. Vercein everyday wakes up and tells me that he needs to go out to the backyard to jump on the tramp. They took their blankets out to the tramp yesterday to go take a "nap" because they were tired. Alexus is my little monkey. She is climbing everything and crawling everywhere. She recently discovered the bathroom. Fun. Tonight she figured out how to stand up in the high chair. Alexus, we have discovered, is why people usually baby proof their house. With the other two we didn't need to worry about it, but her, very much so. She is such a happy baby. She tries to say Savanah, and can say da-da and uh-oh. She will only say mom when she is eating. Go figure.
We are trying our hand at gardening again this year. We have things in our garden that we haven't tried growing before, like artichokes and cauliflower. That's about all for right now.
